Tracking Type 1:
Classic In-Vehicle Tracking

This type of tracking utilizes a dedicated in-vehicle hardware
unit called a 'black box'. The black box is discretely and
permanently mounted into the vehicle. The unit utilizes a
GPS receiver to read the current vehicle location and utilizes
an external antenna to then communicate that position, or 'bread
crumb', back to your dispatch center. Black box units allow
for terrestrial (cell network-based) communication.

Cellular Phone Tracking

This type of tracking utilizes Nextel GPS/Java-enabled cell phones as
tracking devises. Each handheld phone can be used as a
personal communication devise for voice and direct connect
while running the tracking applet simultaneously. The
phones communicate their position, or 'bread crumb', back to your dispatch center.
