Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) technology
allows for tracking your fleet in real-time on desktop
software or web-based maps. AVL providers send real-time
vehicle position reports and also record and store records or
previous fleet activity. Two-way GPS-enabled antennas allow vehicles or
assets to collect current locations from GPS satellites.

Collected position reports are then relayed to terrestrial towers or even to
GPS satellites. The dropping costs of AVL
technology makes ownership of such systems very
practical. IE Logistics has selected only AVL
partners capable of integrating with industry-standard map
formats. This allows for created route plans to be
'dropped-into' our tracking solutions so that your dispatchers
can see planned vs. actual route activity.
